We were invited to a panel discussion on the issue of social housing and gentrification, a particular issue many neighbourhoods in London are currently facing.
As part of the conversation, we discussed the prevailing socioeconomic conditions in the communities experiencing gentrification; proposed policies by the main political parties to address the issue of limited and dwindling stocks of social housing; as well as actions that can be taken at local level to address the problems encountered.
There was also time for a question and answer session with the audience. We tackled questions on the issues and problems many were facing with regards to housing and gentrification and offered potential solutions to address these issues.
